After 33 years of life, I have learned many lessons, most of them the hard way. Here are three that I would like to share with you:
1. Don’t dwell on the past, learn from it.
Moderation when thinking of the past is key. It’s great to reminisce from time to time and to look back on past mistakes, but these memories should not serve to sadden you. If thinking back becomes habit, sadden you is exactly what they’ll do.
Use these memories as motivators, lessons and opportunities to grow into success.
There is no rewind button, no time machine so remember the past, but keep your eyes on the prize.
2. Live in the moments that life gives you. BE PRESENT in the present.
Distractions, distractions, distractions. We are surrounded by them. Hell, we carry one in our pocket everywhere we go. Cell phones have made it easier for us to connect, yet they separate us more often than not. TIME TO PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY!
We are all guilty of the constant phone check and once we our eyes hit that screen, we miss the things that are right in front of us. The conversation, a great photo, your daughters first step. Put away the phone and be present in these moments.
3. Think about the future with optimism and do not let anyone convince you that your dream is impossible.
Pursue your dreams with reckless abandon. Steer clear of negativity. If you listen to everyone that say you can’t, you wont.
Do not simply exist, live with intention!
